Changes for the 2020-2021 School Year:

Arrival: Upon arrival students and faculty will have their temperatures checked. In order to stay the temperature must be 100.3 or less. Anything 100.4 or more will require two additional temperature checks. If they are 100.4 or more this will result in going home. Car Riders will enter through the front doors. Bus Riders will enter through the lunchroom doors. During arrival no parents will be allowed to enter the building. PreK will enter at their building- no parents will be allowed to enter. Please look at the diagram on the back for parking lot help.

Mask: Masks are optional for faculty and students. Disposable masks will be made available upon arrival.

Dismissal: Please make sure you are in the correct lane to pick your child up in. If you do not know your lane number please call the school 931-692-3710 ext. 2 to be given one. We ask you to be patient as we dismiss. We have an increased number of car riders this year due to social distancing protocols. Please look at the diagram on the back for parking lot help.

Attendance: We will no longer offer an incentive for Perfect Attendance. While we want your child to strive for good attendance we also want to put health and safety first. If your child is ill, you should not send your child to school where they could infect others. Please call our office 931-692-3710 ext 1 to report absences. This does not take the place of parent or doctor notes. It simply informs the staff at North Elementary School.  Like last year, doctor and dentist notes will be accepted. You also have 3 parent notes per semester.

Exposure and or Positive Test Results: Anyone that has been within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for 10 minutes or more must quarantine themselves at home for 14 days. Anyone testing positive for COVID-19 must isolate themselves at home for 10 days from the onset of their symptoms or 10 days from the date their test was done if they never developed symptoms. Fever must be gone and they must feel better for at  least 24 hours. Please call our office 931-692-3710 ext 3 to report exposure or results.

Visitors: We are limiting the number of people in the building. We ask that if you are checking your child out early to call 931-692-3710 ext. 2. The secretary will assist you. If you need to have an in person meeting with your child’s teacher, the principal, the nurse, or any other personnel please call the school to set up an appointment. Once an appointment has been set up, all visitors will be required to have their temperature checked before entering the school.  While we would like to have an open door policy, the COVID-19 virus has changed some of our protocols. We encourage you to call the school directly for any needs you may have.

Please encourage your child to social distance while at school and use good handwashing techniques. We appreciate all your support in the health and safety of our students and faculty.
